Flying the Green Flag

In Paris, one of those cities that Sydney loves to cite as a haven for cyclists of the commuting or recreational variety, Radiohead had 50 free passes up for grabs, free if you rode your bicycle to collect them. Unfortunately the stunt backfired, Ticket deal’s a Radio-dead loss with only 15 people riding out to get their free passes. Does this mean that Radiohead's audience is not as committed to the environment as the band is? Or are Parisians just not that keen on the humble bicycle?

Closer to home in Adelaide, Democrat Kanck wants Adelaide CBD to be petrol free, her argument is that eventually oil will run out anyway so why not plan for that now, starting with the removal of petrol driven vehicles from the CBD by 2012.
with a bit of imagination and planning we can turn this adversity into an opportunity for urban renewal.

Democrat MP Sandra Kanck gets my vote!
