Adelaide Lord Mayor Michael Harbison is under fire for chaining 10 bicycles bearing campaign messages to poles around Adelaide. (Adelaide Now)
So, what is the problem?
Are cyclists complaining because the campaign bikes are taking up parking space? Apparently not.
The first problem seems to be about the timing as regards to when you can start using Council property.
The other issue is about blatant advertising in a city with the toughest advertising regulations in the country.
"...it was cheeky to leave the bike there when traders were under stricter controls about how they could use advertising."
There seems to be one set of rules for the rulers and a different set for the ruled.
I wonder if the Mayor actually rides a bike?
Update "LORD Mayor Michael Harbison has been asked to remove his "Harbo for Mayor" bikes from the city."

Lets not be cynical, perhaps this can be the first campaign to sweep to victory on Bicycles!
Join me,
Michael
I would love to be in a position to vote for someone who not only championed the cause of cyclists but who also rode regularly.
I also have no problem with advertising on bikes, I think this is actually a great way to bring bicycles to the attention of non-cyclists.
